Daily Bible reading is one great way to grow spiritually.  Below are some ideas to begin.  Find one that you like and get started!

The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives:   it straightens us out and helps us do what is right.  It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, full equipped to do good to everyone.”  2 Timothy 3:16-17

Some things to keep in mind to get the most out of your Bible Reading:

1.  Make daily reading a habit.
2.  Read with a purpose in mind.  As you read the Bible, you’ll begin to understand the will of God for your life.
3.  Study as you read.  Take notes.
4.  Put what you read into practice.
5.  Pray before and after you read.
6. Some people like to find a partner to read along with you.

Plan for Reading the Bible

Of all the reasons people mention for not reading the Bible, simple discouragement ranks highest.  The Bible’s length along, about 1,000 pages, is imposing.  More like a self-contained library than a book, with 66 different books by several dozen authors.  Little wonder people get confused and discouraged.

The following plan helps break the Bible into more manageable portions.  If you’re new to the Bible, begin with Introduction to the Bible – your understanding and appreciation for the Bible should gradually increase.

Usually each day you’re asked  to read one chapter which usually takes 5-10 minutes.
